Verified Reviewer | Sydney, New South WalesEmergency medication left at baggage check in
There is no emergency contact at Sydney airport after 4pm to speak with anyone regarding urgent and serious events taking place. Important medication was also in a small bag as well as other associated items to which were not returned to the luggage.
Reaching the destination and realising what had taken place , the inability to have anyone to contact at Sydney airport after 4pm for something as serious is irresponsible as with the ramifications to what can transpire! You can only be in serious trouble and contact anyone at Sydney airport for urgent help before 4pm is unbelievably a serious problem!

Called Rex airline terminal ask for credit or refund due to missed flight as was 25 late. The lady was abrupt rude and wasn't prepared to listen or to explain.
I won't be recommending Rex to anyone. $297 gone no credit or refund it's utterly ridiculous
I will be taking it further. The person at Qantas was great.
The lady at Rex was rude and hung up on me.
I'm very disappointed with the way my granddaughter was treated. I will be willing to send any pictures when she does finally get home safely, as she would have all the details on her phone.
- Some costumet service attendant great

Verified Reviewer | Sydney, New South WalesI am writing to seek your immediate assistance in locating my missing suitcase.
I am writing to seek your immediate assistance in locating my partner (Teesha Millard) missing suitcase.
Tuesday 11th December
Departure: Gold Coast Connection: Sydney Final Destination: Melbourne
We missed the connecting flight to Melbourne and was put on the next flight.
We were given instructions the suitcase was available on carousel 6 around 6.20pm prior to catching the next flight.
We were forced to board the flight without the suitcase.
My partner has been extremely distressed and we need the suitcase to be sent to Melbourne on the next available flight.
Suitcase
Light cream colour hard case.
We have already filed a report with my airline, but I am reaching out to your team for additional support.
Could you please check your lost and found department and update me on the status of the suitcase?
Your prompt response and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Despite my efforts in reaching out to multiple airports, I have yet to receive any information regarding its whereabouts.
I have exhausted my available resources and am now seeking your assistance in expediting this process. The situation is causing inconvenience, and I would greatly appreciate any support you can provide in locating my suitcase promptly.
Thank you
Matthew Ammendolia

Awful
Of the 20+ airports I've been in, Sydney is by far the worst.
I sat outside in the freezing cold 11am - 2:30am.
That I was prepared to do. But.
My period started and there was nowhere to go: I huddled in a corner of the parking lot and prayed for privacy as I was putting a tampon in. Thankfully I'd brought some in my carry-on, otherwise I would have been forced to bleed through my clothing for 3 hours.
Maybe spend less on fancy amenities and focus on your customers who deserve somewhere to *** and sit. Not everyone has $75 per hour for a "hotel" because you can't be bothered staying open for a measly 3 hours
The passport ticket machines all ran out of paper. 50 minutes to get a ticket. No one assisting international travellers. Bloody embarrassing.
No paper in any of the passport ticket machines. Huge line ups, with no one helping.
It was embarrassing to be standing there amongst international tourists. The fact that you now have to type 100 words is clearly designed so people just give up and can't be bothered typing so you can then say you don't get complaints.
User's recommendation: More machines, someone to check to see if there is paper. It's not hard.

Verified Reviewer | Sydney, New South WalesComplaint
Dear Sir/Madam,
My niece arrived from Jakarta, Indonesia at approximately 11am on Saturday 30 March 2024. She was on flight GA 712 and exited through gate 13 of customs declaration.
During this process, she was met with a customs officer of a tall Caucasian blonde female appearance who made inappropriate remarks to my niece and regarding myself, her aunt, accusing me of unlawful activities without proof or evidence to support her accusations. I was not present throughout this conversation as I was not a passenger yet was faced with accusations I can only conclude was made based simply on the officer's own prejudices.
My niece declared an Indonesian traditional dish (a cooked fish cake named Pempek) as required by Australian biosecurity law, a practice which myself and the rest of my family who have lived here in Sydney for the past 20+ years have followed as lawful citizens of Australia. We have never experienced any problems bringing this into Sydney - the food is fully processed and vacuumed, no raw ingredients and has no meat in the ingredients. It is made of fish and tapioca flour as the base ingredients, with condiments (salt & sugar).
Despite this, the customs officer in charge refuted my niece's explanation, dismissing her claims as false and claiming that "it has meat" based on pure speculation. Furthermore, when my niece attempted to explain the circumstances on how it is a processed food that I have, for countless times, brought back here to Sydney from my trips to Indonesia, the customs officer refuted her by baselessly claiming: "your aunt did not declare it then."
I am understanding that the customs officer was working their job, and can be understanding of her executing her power to perform her job to the best of her ability. HOWEVER, I strongly believe that these baseless accusations are extremely inappropriate considering the circumstances that she:
1. claims to know the ingredients of the traditional dish, Pempek, more than my niece herself, dismissing my niece's explanation as lies based on her own prejudiced judgement.
2.
also accused an uninvolved person, myself, as a criminal who does not abide by the law without any logical reason to base her claims on.
I am extremely disappointed in how Sydney Airport customs has allowed their staff to abuse their power to intimidate visitors who are new to the country and express comments that I can only logically conclude as being simply of discriminatory behaviour.
I hope that this issue is addressed, as it is frankly frustrating and hugely insulting to be accused of such behaviour. I also strongly believe that it would be in Sydney Airport's best interests to ensure this kind of behaviour does not occur in the future towards international visitors, as it sets an extremely unpleasant impression of Australia as a country.
Thank you

Verified Reviewer | Sydney, New South WalesCustoms - Food from NZ
Hi, my nz made lasagne toppas were confiscated at customs, as i was told they need to be 100% beef. However.
They allowed the meat pies to go through. Upon reading the ingredients, both products have similar ingredients and percentage of beef. How is this fair? I have taken photos of these ingredient descriptions if needed.
I would like to be reimbursed. Can you please look into this.
These food items were allowed in before, as some of my family members have made it through customs with it. I dont know if the officer knew what he was doing or if he was just being unfair.

Verified Reviewer | Sydney, New South WalesComplaint Regarding Unprofessional Conduct of Security Staff at Sydney Domestic Terminal 2
Dear Sydney Airport Security Management,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint about an incident I experienced with the security staff at Sydney Domestic Terminal 2 on 5 January 2024 at about 3:40. As a frequent traveler, I understand and respect the need for strict security measures.
However, the treatment I received during my recent interaction was both unprofessional and disrespectful.
Upon passing through the security checkpoint, I was informed that a size 10 wrench in my carry-on was not permitted onboard. I expressed my willingness to consult the gate agent about checking the item but was abruptly interrupted. The staff member proceeded to search my bag with little care, causing my personal items, including a charger, to be handled roughly and dropped.
Most distressingly, after I complied with the search and prepared to discuss the wrench with the gate agent, I was informed that the staff member had already discarded it without my consent. This action not only disregarded my property rights but also ignored the dialogue I attempted to initiate.
Additionally, as I was re-packing my belongings, the same staff member confronted me in a manner that I found intimidating, threatening to delay my travel for several hours.
This behavior was not only uncalled for but also a gross misuse of authority.
I have traveled extensively, including to countries with stringent security protocols, but have never encountered such an overreach of power and lack of courtesy.
I request a thorough investigation into this incident and appropriate action against the staff involved. Furthermore, I would appreciate guidance on how to seek compensation for the loss of my property and the distress caused by this encounter.
I look forward to your prompt response and hope that measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
Sincerely,
Aung Myint Myat Htet

I have been put off by the behaviours of airport staff and would choose a different destination for my holidays in future
While going through security the staff member sent every brown person to the middle row when there was no one going through his row. He let three white women go through before us even though we were in front.
When asked twice he had a rude tone and couldn't give us a reason. We felt discriminated against and irritated that at his attitude.
- No pros
- Discriminatory staff
